Dr. Hilton Becker

Dr. Hilton Becker is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Boca Raton, Florida, in practice since 1981 and a nationally and internationally recognized expert in fat grafting. He has published articles and lectured around the world on his modified techniques of fat grafting for facial rejuvenation and breast enlargement.

Dr. Becker received his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and completed his plastic surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Florida Atlantic University's medical school and a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons–Edinburgh.

A prolific innovator, Dr. Becker has patented and developed six plastic surgery devices. He is the inventor of the Becker Micronizer, which micronizes fat particles to enable more successful fat grafting to the face and breast; the Becker Adjustable Breast Implant; and the Becker Dissector Liposuction Cannula. His research spans tendon healing with platelet-rich plasma, the effect of hyaluronic acid and fibroblasts on collagen production, and the use of injectable calcium hydroxylapatite for non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Early in his career, after witnessing the emotional and physical difficulties his patients faced following a breast cancer diagnosis, Dr. Becker was determined to help women undergoing mastectomies maintain their sense of self. He invented the Becker Adjustable Breast Implant, which allows reconstructive surgery to be completed in a single procedure — the implant is shaped and sized as fluid is added through a port that is removed once healing is complete. Today he also offers reconstruction using the patient's own fat tissue combined with absorbable mesh. His extensive experience in reconstructive breast surgery greatly enhances his ability to perform cosmetic surgery of the breast.

In addition to his surgical work, Dr. Becker has published two books, contributed to numerous textbooks, authored more than 100 articles in medical journals, and serves as an instructor at plastic surgery meetings and conferences throughout the world. He was named one of Good Housekeeping's top Breast Cancer Reconstructive Surgeons in 1989 and remains dedicated to his cancer patients around the world.
