A Trial Record Built Over Decades. Mr. Kornreich has handled thousands of family law cases, including taking more than 200 cases to trial. He has litigated at every level, from the trial court through the Third District Court of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), and National Board of Trial Advocates (NBTA) Certified.
Recognition and Public Service. Mr. Kornreich received the Tobias Simon Pro Bono Service Award, the highest pro bono award given in Florida, presented at the Florida Supreme Court. He has also received the Judge Richard Yale Feder Professionalism Award, the Richard Milstein Excellence Award from the Dade County Bar Association, The Florida Bar "Sand Beneath my Feet" Professionalism Award, the Judge Theodore Klein Award, the Ray Pearson Guardian Ad Litem Award, the "W" Award by the YWCA, and Dade Legal Aid's Extraordinary Service Award. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and South Florida Legal Elite, and is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Leadership in the Family Law Community. He is a Past President of The First Family Law American Inn of Court and served for five years, including as Chair, on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission after being nominated by The Florida Bar and appointed by Governor Jeb Bush. He has served on Florida Bar Family Law Section committees, including the committee that established the first set of Family Law Rules of Procedure, and was appointed by The Florida Bar President in 2001 to Vice-Chair the Legal Commission on the Legal Needs of Children.
Community Programs and Mentorship. For 38 years, Mr. Kornreich has been the lead organizer and moderator for the Annual View from the Bench Seminar benefitting Dade Legal Aid, which recruits pro bono guardians ad litem. Along with former Chief Judge Bertila Soto, he founded the Court Care program, which provides free childcare at six Miami-Dade courthouses, and he has led the First Family Law American Inn of Court's Turkey Drive for over twenty-five years to support families in domestic violence shelters during the holidays.
Mr. Kornreich co-authored "Proving the Unproveable" with Jane Estricher, one of the most cited scholarly articles on the concept of Imputation of Income in Florida family law cases, and previously hosted his own television show, "You and the Law." He was also featured nationally for his work on the "War of the Roses" case that aired on ABC News Primetime.
