Chief Executive of Hewlett-Packard Meg Whitman recently revealed that the tech company will take on the iPad culture in the form of its own tablet to be released in December. The new gadget is aimed at businesses, and will run on Microsoft Windows 8 software.
As Whitman told a group of businessmen and businesswomen in Silicon Valley recently, “It is not really a tablet market, it is an iPad market.” She even admitted to having one of her own. However, the HP tablet will serve a different purpose: it will cater to the business place and keep a consciousness of safety and security.
“There is a big trend to BYOD to work; which is all well and good until there is a security breach,” continued Whitman. “We are going to provide an alternative.”
