After months of debate, members of The Point Lake and Golf Club in Mooresville, North Carolina Carolina have voted to sell their club to Haute 100 lister Donald Trump. This will be the magnate’s first project in the Charlotte area.
Trump is paying $3 million for the club, which will be renamed Trump National Golf Club, Charlotte. Trump pledges to invest millions to improve the Greg Norman-designed course, tennis courts and facilities. The sale could close as soon as next month.
“My father and I are overwhelmed by our incredible victory and the immense support of so many wonderful members,” Eric Trump, who is taking the lead on the project said to The Observer. “There is no doubt that when completed, Trump National Golf Club, Charlotte will be the best club in North Carolina and beyond.”
