Haute 100 New York Update: Ralph Lauren Presents English Countryside Chic at NYFW
Haute 100 lister Ralph Lauren presented his Fall 2012 collection yesterday at New York Fashion Week. Ralph Lauren, known for his iconic classic style did not disappoint, with an obvious inspiration for the line coming from English countryside wares.
Right on trend, many of the pieces have masculine silhouettes –particularly the three piece suits worn with flat-caps and bowlers. Other showcases included smoking jackets worn over wide-legged trousers with crocodile boots, and chalk-stripe suits paired with structured crocodile handbags.

Haute 100 Lister Mayor Michael Bloomberg gathered with Douglas Steiner, the HBO cast of Boardwalk Empire and city council speaker Christine Quinn to celebrate the addition of 5 sound stages at Steiner Studios. This morning’s ribbon cutting ceremony hailed the expansion of Steiner Studios, the largest production facilities outside of the west coast. Adding to Steiner will allow New York based production companies to compete with Hollywood on a much grander scale. “It used to be that we struggled to attract productions to New York City,” Bloomberg said to WNYC. Haute 100 Lister Diane von Furstenberg’s Fall 2012 accessories premiered on the runway to much fanfare. This week, the who’s who of the fashion industry was invited to get up close and personal with DVF’s collection at the designers studio. The collection of handbags, shoes, gloves, and other accessories continued the theme of luxe fabrics showcased in the ready-to-wear collection. The collection includes fetish clutches, shaped like hearts, clocks and stylized faces with interior mirrors. The shoes come in an adventurous mix of material, shape and pattern. Haute 100 lister Donald Trump is constantly expanding his empire–be it through real estate, politics or consumer products. The latest is his men’s fragrance, appropriately called “Success”. The fragrance is described as “fresh juniper, iced red currant, brushed with hints of coriander.” There are also notes of frozen ginger, fresh bamboo leaves and geranium, vetiver, tonka bean, birch wood and musk.
