A bitter fight between two of Rihanna’s ex-boyfriends might have lost Tony Parker his shot at Olympic glory.
The NBA star was a victim during the recent scuffle at Manhattan’s W.i.P. nightclub when a piece of glass thrown by one of the musicians got caught in his eye.
The San Antonio Spurs star guard says he could miss the upcoming Summer Games in London because of the severe eye injury. The cornea of Parker’s left eye was cut by a shard of glass during the June 15th fight; he is currently undergoing further eye tasting after doctors found an errant piece of glass that had “penetrated 99 percent.”
The France-born basketball player wrote on his website yesterday “I can say today, I almost lost my eye.”
He added: “I cannot believe that happened to me a month before the Games…I was in the wrong place, at the wrong time…the Spurs are very worried. Anything can happen, including me being out of the Olympics…The decision doesn’t belong to me anymore. It’s in the hands of the doctor and San Antonio.”
