It’s no secret that Emilio Estefan has been at the helm of the music industry for decades; the superstar producer has been a catalyst for Latin artists like Ricky Martin, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. And now, Estefan has announced his partnership with 20th Television to produce a TV show that aids Latin actors in the pursuit of launching their careers in the industry.
Here’s what our Haute 100 lister had to say about his new endeavor:
“Through the years, we’ve seen a lot of misconceptions,” Estefan said in a statement. “The roles Hispanics play has been predictable. A lot of the things they usually have related to Latinos were prostitutes, housekeepers or drug dealers. I feel this will definitely bring a lot of hope and respect to a lot of new generation actors to be able to play any kind of role.”
