Pop star and X-Factor judge Britney Spears has purchased a new home in Thousand Oaks, California, for $8.5 million. The 8,456-square-foot home features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Spears’ new Hacienda-style mansion is located in the upscale neighborhood of Thousand Oaks and was listed on the open market in April 2012. The home is a multi-winged, single-story residence located in a 24-guarded and gated community called Sherwood Country Club. Built in 2010, the home features 8,456 square feet, five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, an arched, wood front door, a large center hall entry, soaring ceilings, a library, two separate offices, a home theater/bonus room, limestone tile flooring, a formal dining room with wide plank oak floor and a high wood-beamed ceiling, a semi-circular wet bar, a temperature-controlled walk-in wine room and unobstructed views over the hills and the manicured Jack Nicklaus-designed 18-hole golf course that is located in the urban development.
There is also an L-shaped open-plan family living space and a double-island kitchen with gray-veined white marble counter tops, top grade appliances and a butler’s pantry.
Outside there are deep, covered verandas that extend off the back of the home, a fully landscaped backyard, rose gardens and ample sunbathing terraces along the side of an infinity-edged pool. The listing information also states that there is a five-car garage and a separate bay for golf cart storage.
Sherwood Country Club is located away from Hollywood and is popular amongst celebrities and wealthy individuals looking for a less-crowded yet luxurious suburban country club style lifestyle.
