This year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit featured high-end automakers unveiling new models with more razzle-dazzle and optimism.  With the car industry making a comeback, there was reason for celebration.

Bentley Continental GT

Some highlights include new releases from Bentley, Porsche and Mercedes.  Bentley released its Continental GT with a V-8 engine.  The sleek and chic GT is capable of 500 horsepower and can go from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550

Porsche and Mercedes were not to be out-shined with Porsche debuting the new version of 911 Carrera.  While Mercedes unveiled its 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550, the hardtop convertible has a V-8 engine and a new futuristic look.

The auto show began on Jan. 9 open only to the press through the 10^th.  The 11^th and 12^th was an Industry Preview.  On Friday Jan. 13, the auto show is having a Charity Preview from 6-9pm.  Tickets cost $250 per person for the black tie event and proceeds go directly to children’s charities in southeastern Michigan. Since 1976, the Charity Preview has raised $84 million.

Following the Charity Preview, the auto show is open to the public starting on the 14^th through the 22^nd.  Everyone will get the chance to view more than 500 vehicles from automakers such as Bentley, Porsche, Mercedes, Lexus, Cadillac, Audi, GM just to name a few.
