This year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit featured high-end automakers unveiling new models with more razzle-dazzle and optimism.  With the car industry making a comeback, there was reason for celebration.

Bentley Continental GT

Some highlights include new releases from Bentley, Porsche and Mercedes.  Bentley released its Continental GT with a V-8 engine.  The sleek and chic GT is capable of 500 horsepower and can go from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550

Porsche and Mercedes were not to be out-shined with Porsche debuting the new version of 911 Carrera.  While Mercedes unveiled its 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550, the hardtop convertible has a V-8 engine and a new futuristic look.

The auto show began on Jan. 9 open only to the press through the 10th.  The 11th and 12th was an Industry Preview.  On Friday Jan. 13, the auto show is having a Charity Preview from 6-9pm.  Tickets cost $250 per person for the black tie event and proceeds go directly to children’s charities in southeastern Michigan. Since 1976, the Charity Preview has raised $84 million.

Following the Charity Preview, the auto show is open to the public starting on the 14th through the 22nd.  Everyone will get the chance to view more than 500 vehicles from automakers such as Bentley, Porsche, Mercedes, Lexus, Cadillac, Audi, GM just to name a few.
