Casa Azul Cantina Soft-Opens in Westwood

Coming from the owners of Frida, this new Mexican restaurant is thrilling locals with its rib eye tacos and El Diablo margaritas. The soft-opening took place on Friday and it is quickly turning into the perfect lunch time, business-casual spot in Westwood.

Located in the former space of Tengu, Casa Azul Cantina is a colorful shrine to tequila and tacos. There is an outdoor patio flanked with white lights and perfect for a dinner date. Lunchtime is a great time to do some taco tasting and at Casa Azul Cantina you can order a plate of five, ranging from chicken to carnitas to beef.

Other items on the menu include: Guacamole en Molcajete (Fresh avocado mixed with onions, jalapeiio chile, tomato and cilantro and fresh lime juice, prepared tableside), Gambas al Ajillo (Fresh shrimp prepared with olive oil, garlic, guajillo chile and lime juice), Octopus Tiradito  (Thin sliced octopus  with rocoto chile  in olive oil, lime juice and volcanic salt)  and Burrito Campechano (Combination of marinated grilled chicken and beef sirloin with refried beans, rice, queso fresco, lettuce and sour cream, wrapped in a flour tortilla).
