Haute 100 Update: 17th Annual Make-A-Wish Ball to be Held at InterContinental Miami

Revered South Florida philanthropist Norm Wedderburn’s 17th Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation will take place this year on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the luxurious InterContinental Miami Hotel.

The event has so far been successful in raising over $9.6 million over its 16-year history to grant the wishes of 2,100 children facing life-threatening medical conditions.

Guests at the soiree will enjoy cocktails and hors d’ouevres, dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions to be held for fantasy items and experiences. This year, actress Gabrielle Anwar will act as celebrity auctioneer.

Community support is what has made the event so successful. Over 800 guests from South Florida and beyond made last year’s ball success, with notable names having supported the annual cause such as Paula Abdul, Sharon Stone, Pamela Anderson, Richie Rich, Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons, Don King, Scottie Pippen, Mike Piazza, Marcus Schenkenberg, Kim Kardashian and Venus and Serena Williams. Musical performers have included Wyclef Jean, Macy Gray, Natalie Cole, D.J. Cassidy and D.J. Irie.

For more information on the ball and after party, call Stephanie Eckert at (954) 967-9474 ext. 318 or visit the Make-A-Wish Ball’s website.
