The New Apple Store Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s first Apple Store opened this week, to much fanfare.

Hundreds camped out in front of the new store overnight. Security guards made several hundred more wait outside the mall on a pedestrian bridge connecting the mall to Hong Kong’s ferry piers.

“It was a bit rough sleeping here, but it was worth it,” teenager, J.J. Ng said over the cheers, applause and 5,000 free T-shirts greeting the first customers.

Some onlookers weren’t as enthralled. “This is just amazing, but I’m not queuing up,” said Hiew Heong, a 25-year-old tourist visiting from Kuala Lumpur, who was snapping photos of the crowds on his iPhone. “Too much time to wait. I’d rather do something else.”
