W Hotel & Residences to Grace Hollywood
The W, by far one of Starwood’s most elite and eccentric family of properties (and a personal favorite of mine), is coming to one of Hollywood’s hautest corners this fall. The famed intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street not only houses the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but gained notoriety in the 1920s for its concentration of radio and movie-related businesses, and now it can add one more notch to its prominent belt.
The mixed-use project, developed by HKS Architects, will include a 305-room hotel, 143 luxury condominiums and over 40,000 square feet of street-level retail space, in addition to an MTA transit plaza, a French brasserie by IDG, nationally recognized bar, heavenly Bliss Spa, Wet pool and Sweat Fitness facility, as well as rooftop terraces for public and private fetes. In true Hollywood fashion, a red carpet will lead up the silver screen glass façade entrance, guaranteed to usher in only the brightest shining stars.
Not only is it glamorous, but it’s green as well, constructed with locally manufactured and post-industrial recycled materials and registered with the U.S. Green Building Council as one of the largest LEED-certified properties in Los Angeles. It’s good for the environment, and for the Hollywood starlet in you as well, as their signature Whatever/Whenever services are sure to make you feel like royalty, so it’s a win-win situation. Go ahead, indulge yourself and book your reservation now. Greta Garbo would be proud.
