Dubai will be the next destination of CHANEL’s global photographic exhibition dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld’s latest book The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld. The exhibition will showcase a mix of both original and new photographs which capture the classic and timeless beauty of the CHANEL jacket.

Described as the ‘ultimate symbol of feminine chic’, the CHANEL jacket has been reinvented many times since Coco Chanel conceived it in 1954. It now forms part of almost every CHANEL collection and has become one of the brand’s greatest legacies.

The book and the exhibition highlight CHANEL’s values of creativity, modernity and excellence. The exhibition will display both original and new photographs which have been taken by Karl Lagerfeld himself and styled by Carine Roitfeld (former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris ).  More than a hundred celebrities have been photographed in the jacket, each portraying how this masterpiece can be adapted to many different personalities and styles.  Some significantly notable personalities including Keira Knightley, Carla Bruni and Diane Kruger form part of the exhibition and encapsulate the versatility and iconic status of the little black jacket as a wardrobe essential that has lasted across generations.

The 2013 Spring-Summer Ready-to-Wear collection will also be displayed simultaneously in the windows of CHANEL’s boutiques across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld will be held at The Venue on Emaar Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. It will be open to the public from Saturday 17 April until Saturday 11 May. Admission is free.  For more information, visit thelittleblackjacket.chanel.com
