Haute Shopping: Miami’s Best Boutiques

According to the seasons, it is still considered the latter part of the fall, winter season in many areas around the globe.  In major cities like New York, Washington D.C., and Boston, it is extremely cold!  I just recently spoke with a dear friend that  resides in New York City and she describes the weather as almost “unbearable.”  As of yesterday, weather forecasts were between 26 °F-30°F.  As for beautiful, sunny Miami, Florida, the locals and the tourists are moving to a different tune. A different temperature that is. The weather is around 80°F during the day and 65°F at night.  These conditions make Miami, Florida a shopping and travel destination next to none.  This city has some of the best luxury department stores and boutiques to find all of your spring and resort wear. As you read on, you will discover some of Miami’s “haute” places to shop for spring and resort wear this season.

The Bal Harbour Shops is an exquisite shopping center that is the place for Miami’s wealthy elite. The lush plants and sculptures in the center courtyard make Bal Harbour feel like a secret garden rather than a shopping mall. Stores that I would recommend to find some  “haute” spring and resort wear would be 100% Capri, Calypso St. Barth, Prada, Tory Burch, Intermix, and James Perse. These are the perfect boutiques to target when you want fashion, luxury, and comfort at the same time. Calypso St. Barth is a perfect addition to Bal Harbour shops.  Calypso has established themselves as a global luxury lifestyle brand with resort pieces to suit tropical weather.  On the other hand, 100% Capri, Prada, and Tory Burch offers luxury and resort wear in one.  There is a mix of tunics, bathing suits, and sandals for the day and linen shirts, pants, polos, and drivers for the nightlife that Miami offers.

Just minutes away is Miami Beach and the famous Lincoln Road Mall. Lincoln Road could be described as eclectic, fun, energized, and full of opportunities to shop. It’s impossible to visit the South Beach area and not wander down the open air mall. The shops along here will range from typical beach wear stores to fancy art galleries, restaurants, and book stores.  Some of the premiere shopping destinations in this area would be Scoop at the Shore Club, Atrium, Big Drop, and The Webster.  All of these destinations offer light, comfortable spring and resort wear for both men and women.  The Webster on the other hand, located at 1220 Collins Ave. is a place for the wealthy and offer a first floor with a bar, restaurant, and area that contains high-end contemporary fashions.  The second level of this hotel turned boutique and restaurant offers high-end luxury that takes your breath away with designs ranging from Tom Ford, Chanel, Lanvin, Balmain, Trussardi, Margiela, Givenchy, etc.

It is important to know that Miami is not all about the beach and the sun.  There are many great places to shop and find some of the best spring and resort wear from boutiques and designers around the world.  For more info on shopping destinations in Miami, Florida visit www.balharbourshops.com and www.thewebstermiami.com.
