3450 Washington Street is the 2010 Decorator Showcase Home
The annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase launched this week with a two-night opening that left many saying it was the best Showcase home in recent years.
This year, 29 design firms transformed every room of a stately residence located in one of the most desired neighborhoods on the West Coast — San Francisco’s Presidio Heights.
The 1929 French Normandy mansion, worth approximately $20 million by some estimates, underwent a complete top-to-bottom makeover in preparation for the show.
Many of the designers, such as Suzanne Tucker, Shirley Robinson and Matthew MacCaul Turner, have shown at previous Showcase events, but there are some newcomers this year as well, including Brian Dittmar, De Meza + Architecture, Fiddleleaf Fine Gardening & Design, Neo-American Gardens, SagreraBrazil Design, and Sonoma Decorative Arts.
The designers’ looks, ranging from the traditional to the experimental, seemed to put everyone in the mood for some renovations of their own homes, which will keep San Francisco’s best designers very busy throughout 2010!
