As San Francisco gears up for Dreamforce, we replay the haute happenings of the past week. George Lucas and Mellody Hobson were on the scene for the Platinum VIP Preview of Art Silicon Valley/San Francisco, Colin Bailey and Brian Chesky were among the boldface names to take a splash at the 22nd annual Celebrity Pool Toss, Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel’s singer/songwriter offspring Alexa Ray Joel christened the new Bloomingdale’s Stanford, Joy Venturini Bianchi was in her element at Helpers Couture for a Cause and a baby panda’s name was revealed at Ghurka. Christie’s Dubai Sales to Offer 10 works by Shafic Abboud from collection of Viviane & Robert Debbas, along with Coveted Timepieces

This auction season Christie’s Dubai will be offering 10 works by the leading Lebanese modernist Shafic Abboud (1926-2004) from the Beirut collection of Viviane & Robert Debbas. The collection is expected to realize around $2 million and will be the highlight of the sale of Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art to be held by Christie’s at the Emirates Towers Hotel on October 21. An auction of Fine Watches will be held the following evening on October 22 and will feature two tourbillon watches by Harry Winston, a handful of pens and fine jewels.
