Famed chef and Haute 100 staple Daniel Boulud has a lot to celebrate. As the owner of some of the most successful eateries in New York, Palm Beach, Miami, Vancouver, Beijing, London, and Singapore, will be celebrating his birthday in the best style possible; charitable style. The French born, now New York will host a dinner that gives back to his adoptive city--The Annual Sunday Supper & Auction on March 25. The cocktail reception and dinner will not only mark Chef Boulud's birthday but will raise proceeds for Citymeals on Wheels, one of the largest meals-on-wheels programs in the U.S., which provides 1.8 million meals to over 16,500 elderly New Yorkers each year along with equally imperative human companionship for the beneficiaries.  [...read more]

A bunch of well-known, New York chefs are packing their bags and headed for warmer weather. Several major NYC chefs are attending the Palm Beach Food and Wine Festival, which, in its fifth year, is expanding from a small three-hour Worth Avenue event to a larger, multi-locale four-day fest from December 9 through 13. In addition to southern stars like Michelle Bernstein, Michael Schwartz, and Ingrid Hoffman, New York super-chefs Scott Conant, John DeLucie, and David Burke will head down to cook Saturday at the Breakers, and Daniel Boulud will host a cocktail reception on Sunday at his Café Boulud and the Brazilian Court gardens.
