On May 13 celebrities such as Russell Simmons, Angela Simmons, Estelle, Swizz Beatz, and others arrived at the 2010 SESAC Music Awards Gala held at the IAC Building in New York City. Numerous artists won awards in different categories including Nate "Danja" Hills who took home Songwriter of the Year as well as Song of the Year for his chart topping smash "Knock You Down," which he wrote for Keri Hilson. Mr. Bam himself, Emeril Lagasse is the latest honoree to be recognized for his philanthropic efforts on behalf of the Food Bank for New York City’s Eighth Annual Can-Do Awards. Co-chaired by chef and author Mario Batali and his wife Susan Cahn, and hosted by Golden Globe and Academy Award nominee (and previous honoree) Stanley Tucci, the dinner will take place April 20 at Abigail Kirsch’s Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River, and will include cocktails, awards, a live auction and several as-of-now unannounced musical performances.  [...read more]

It turned out to be a weekend full of awards with the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards dishing out accolades to the industry heavy weights.
