Billionaire Larry Ellison is set to pour more capital into two Four Seasons resorts on the Hawaiian island of Lanai, which the Oracle owner recently purchased.
Manele Bay hotel and the Lodge at Koele have both been losing money, and Ellison is expected to upgrade the properties to bring them back into profitability. Accessibility will be less of an issue on the island as the US Department of Transportation explores lengthening the runway at Lanai’s airport to handle larger jets. Currently the airport cannot handle aircraft larger than those that seat about 40 people.
