New York City Mayor and Haute 100 lister Michael Bloomberg survived this year’s Groundhog Day unscathed. Let’s back up a moment–the man behind business analytics giant, Bloomberg LP and the third term mayor of the country’s largest city did not fare so well after his meeting with groundhog Charles G. Hogg, also know as Staten Island Chuck, in 2009. In fact, Chuck took a nibble out of the mayor’s finger.
All was well this year when Mayor Bloomberg met the furry forecaster this morning–for both the mayor and for public, as Chuck predicted spring is just around the corner. According to CBS, Chuck has accurately predicted the forecast 80 percent of the time since the 1980s. Perhaps the mayor will enlist him as a business analyst.
