Haute 100 Los Angeles Update: Maloof Family’s Sacramento Kings to Gain New Arena Right at Home

Throughout the three-day All Star Weekend in Orlando, the Maloof family spent time with Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and NBA Commissioner David Stern discussing and negotiating the plans for a new arena for the Sacramento Kings. Now, it looks like all parties involved are getting what they want. Well, for the most part.

While Las Vegas heavyweights were hoping for an NBA team to be relocated to Nevada, it looks like the Kings are staying right at home. A new $387 million arena is to be built.

“This is a great day for Sacramento, a great day for the Maloof family, a great day for the NBA” said Joe Maloof. “Our family is just so excited that we have the framework for a deal. We’ve always said we wanted to stay in Sacramento and now here’s our opportunity.”
