Investor and founder of Yucaipa Companies Ron Burkle just gave Relativity Media a serious boost. Burkle’s second investment in Relativity, a film and television company founded by Ryan Kavanaugh, is an estimated $800 million. “We’ve spent a lot of time analyzing the media industry, and have looked at virtually every asset out there,” said Burkle. “Relativity makes sense. Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, will be recognized for more than her taste making influence this season. The queen of the fashion world is also a human rights activist; a longtime lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocate. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is recognizing Wintour’s humanitarian efforts on Feb. 4, when she will be honored with an Ally for Equality Award.The Ally for Equality Award acknowledges non-LGBT figures who take action in their support of the LGBT community. Magrit Mondavi, wife of the late wine titan Robert Mondavi, is writing her memoirs, and she’s not holding back. The widow is rousing readers with the promise that the novel will reveal her life with her late husband. Ghostwriter Janet Fletcher will pen the memoirs, which will take the form of reflections on art, wine and her personal sentiments as well as memories Mondavi has of her husband.
