I have two local Santa Monica spots- the Hostaria Del Piccolo and Fig at the Fairmont. Both feel like home.
It’s pretty hard to beat Katsuya in Brentwood.
Hostaria Del Piccolo on 6th and Broadway in Santa Monica is hands down the best Italian in LA. I love everything on the menu and the chefs, Germano and Sam, are so wonderfully kind and talented.
The Olive Oil cake at Fig with burnt honey ice cream may be one of the best things I have ever eaten. It’s absolute heaven.
Ado on Main Street or Tasting Kitchen in Venice. Both have very cool, chic vibes. For me the atmosphere is as important as the food.
Gjelina on Abbot Kinney in Venice. That is if I’m lucky enough to get a table!
I try to schedule any formal meetings at Fig for it’s lovely atmosphere - and wine. But to be completely honest, most of my meetings are not in the most luxurious of places given my industry. It could be a quick coffee while going over samples, or an afternoon powwow at a factory talking about production.
Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica. They just opened the Bungalow bar there, which makes for the perfect spot to catch up with friends over a couple drinks.
Tribute on Montana Ave. The owner Leylie has incredible taste and she and her mother are both so stylish and kind.
I wish I had time for these. I have no idea, but I’m always dreaming of them!
Heal the Bay
The Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier makes for the perfect evening outing during the summer.
A calming trip to the Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades. It’s a great place to gather my thoughts for my next collection.
STK in West Hollywood.
I love pizza most in NYC, but when I’m home, I head to Abbot’s Pizza in Venice for a slice….or two! Stella Rosa is also a favorite for pizza.
Marmalade on Montana Ave in Santa Monica. Delish! M Street is also a really fun spot and you can bring your dog if you sit on the patio.
I’m really not what you would call a gym person, I do however love morning classes at Platinum Pilates in Santa Monica.
Unfortunately, just like the spa, these are a treat I rarely have time to indulge in.
Uber Car is pretty genius. I first discovered it in NY and I found out they have it here too!
The Getty. It has a beautiful view and such an incredible collection. It blows my mind that it’s free too!
Certainly a historic LA spot, I would say the Venice canals – especially around Christmas. They are even more enchanting. I love walking through them.
Palisades Park in Santa Monica. A beautiful haven tucked in the city.
I love how LA has the water and the mountains right here, yet still offers big city attractions like great art, food, music, and shopping. Just about everything is at your fingertips.
