Darren Dzienciol serves as yet another entertainment heavyweight in the industry, partnering with nightlife gurus Brent Bolthouse, Jenifer Rosero, and Guy Starkman. Though his first love is fashion (he was offered a spot on Tommy Hilfiger’s team, released his own line, and spent time in Paris for Fashion Week), it brought him back to Los Angeles to partner with Guy Starkman and re-open the popular Guy’s nightclub in 2008. Dzienciol is presently still partnered with the aforementioned three to bring you Trousdale, a new haute spot for the hip and trendy, which opened March 9.
Los Angeles (Cedars–Sinai, across the street from my first club, Guy’s)
Beverly Hills and West Hollywood
The Omakase (Chefs choice) at Sushi Nozawa melts in your mouth.
Taverna Tony; the peasant salad, slow roasted lamb, and flaming saganaki cheese is amazing. I have had many birthday lunches there.
Madeo is an all around classic spot.
Partner Guy Starkman’s Jerry’s Famous Deli, of course. Out of 700 items on the menu, I’ve tried every single thing at least once.
The soufflé at the Polo Lounge
Le Petit L’ermitage Hotel Roof, but even if you find a parking space, I suggest you valet. One time, my date and I took a cab back, thanks to West Hollywood Towing.
Waffles and sushi at the Four Seasons Hotel—I mean, what a combo!
Trousdale, Soho House
Chateau Marmont—Brent [Bolthouse] and I had our first business lunch meeting here.
The Hollywood Bowl—Andy Hewitt has taken care of me every summer.
For superior service and ultimate luxury, The Peninsula.
Maxfield for Rick Owens
Maxfield has vintage Rolexes, Hermes bracelets, etc.
Century Spa in Koreatown for a traditional scrub and massage, or Ciel Spa at SLS for your luxury spa.
Coachella Music Festival—pretty cultural if you ask me
The Griffith Observatory
The weather and the convenience of anything, from great food, easy parking, and access to whatever you desire.
Wolfgang’s Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener, and Boa, directly across the street from Trousdale. I always get a ribeye, medium rare.
Pizzeria Mozza for aging the dough and using olive wood to burn.
Joan’s on Third; get the chicken Milanese sandwich or the Chinese chicken salad
The Bunker Beverly Hills by Adam Ernster
It varies, I’m always looking for the next best, for now I’d say Burke Williams was able to put me to sleep.
Mike Bolton of La Cienega Transportation
MOCA for contemporary art and the J. Paul Getty Museum for pre-20th century paintings
