LuxuryIndex.com Car of the Week: 2006 Rolls-Royce Phantom

Who says size doesn’t matter? When it comes to prestigious elegance in an ultra-luxury sedan, nothing compares to the quality and grandeur of the 2006 Rolls-Royce Phantom. Indeed this stately masterpiece measures 19 feet in length and could engulf most compact cars between its axles. But its majestic appearance fails to limit its incredible performance. With a 6.7 liter V12 aluminum engine, its 453 horses manufacture a 0-60mph time of 5.7 seconds. Combine this with a 6 speed automatic transmission and 531 lb/ft of torque, and there is little this luxury sedan cannot accomplish. Even its frame is constructed from aluminum space material which with air suspension prohibits anything but a smooth ride despite its size.
Of course a Rolls-Royce wouldn’t be the heritage classic for which it is known without superior attention to the interior as well. Hand-sewn leather with premium wood accents are ever-present as is the classic central timepiece. And as you might imagine, spacious luxury abounds. The rear seats are elevated for an enhanced forward view, and automated rear doors make the Phantom ideal for chauffeured driving. Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear video cameras, and a prominent central LCD intelligence screen complete the interior amenities. From inside out, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is exquisite for both riding and driving pleasure. Leave to Rolls-Royce to find the perfect blend between luxury and size to create a most indulgent automotive experience.
