And He’s Back: Victor Drai’s Latest Venture Opens at the W Hotel in Hollywood

Just when you thought the culinary and imbibing landscape that is the new W Hotel in Hollywood couldn’t get any more brightly lit, LA restaurant veteran (who’s been enjoying more spotlight in Vegas than LA as of late) Victor Drai and business partners Cy and Jessie Waits (of Tryst and XS in Las Vegas) have teamed up to take over the top two floors of the hotel to create Drai’s.

Set to open March 11, Drai’s will be part steakhouse, part nightclub, and part poolside bar.  Good thing it’s enormous.  The chef at the helm of the whole food/kitchen operation is Claude Segal of Ma Maison fame and he’s prepared a menu full of classic Californian cuisine.  The original Drai’s enjoyed immense popularity in the mid-1990s at its La Cienega Blvd location before he took his business to the Vegas Strip.  We imagine that this Drai’s, with its sexy décor that throws back to the glamour of old Hollywood and VIPs-only style, will follow suit.
