Despite the Chicken Littles crying out that the sky is falling, the glass is half-full for some in South Florida. Take, for example, recent reports that hotel occupancy rates in Miami are on the rise. Or yesterday’s news from One Sotheby’s Realty that high-end real estate is making a comeback, proven by recession-proof celebrity mansions. Need an example? Cher’s former Miami mansion, which was purchased back in 2006 by a member of our Haute 100 circle, Sean Wolfington, sold this week for $10.45 million.  [...read more]

Haute Living hosted its second-annual "Haute 100" issue release party honoring the 100 most influential people in Miami, who are featured on the cover of the April/May edition of Haute Living Miami. The exclusive event was held in a private room at the Mondrian South Beach on Friday, April 16, where guests were invited to celebrate with champagne by Veuve Cliquot, tasty cocktails, and a dinner by Asia de Cuba.  [...read more]

It may be Friday and you've got nothing but weekend plans on the brain, but we’d like to direction your attention towards the middle of next week. On Wednesday, March 24, the Magic City will play host to a coming-out party like no other. Coinciding with the start of the Sony Ericsson Open, No. 1 Doubles Team Bob and Mike Bryan, along with Sean and Ana Wolfington will host a soiree to debut “The TENNIS app.” Celebrity guests and pro tennis players will be lining the Key Biscayne bridge to get to this island party where Grammy award-winning artist Adriana Lucia will entertain the crowd. The Bryan Brothers are also scheduled for a little entertaining of their own, when they showcase their newest single and their newest cell phone application for all-things-tennis.  [...read more]
