Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has been causing quite the stir lately.  Not only has she shaken things up since she took the reins at Yahoo in July, 2012 (with the company’s swift acquisitions, her two week maternity leave, and her decision to ban employes working from home), but she recently posed for an uber glamorous spread in Vogue Magazine that has heads turning.

Often described as one of the most powerful women in business, Mayer’s photo spread in Vogue magazine is sparking a question that’s becoming more and more common in today’s working world: Can smart women can be beautiful, too?  Some are saying that photos of the dolled-up, super styled Mayer detracts from the article that focuses on her successes and vision in a male-dominated tech world. The profile describes Mayer as an “unusually stylish geek.”

Mayer told Vogue magazine, “I didn’t set out to be at the top of technology companies. I’m just geeky and shy and I like to code. … It’s not like I had a grand plan where I weighed all the pros and cons of what I wanted to do—it just sort of happened.”
