An Insider’s Look: All-New Cast Restaurant at the Viceroy Santa Monica

Cast Dining Rm1

It’s out with the old and in with the new for the Viceroy Santa Monica this summer.

The boutique, VHG-owned hotel has given new life to its former eatery, Whist, and relaunched the new space as Cast restaurant.

Chef Tony DiSalvo stills helms the kitchen, offering a modern, market-driven menu, but the aesthetic of the eatery he caters to has certainly changed for the better.

The space is even more polished, with sliding walls, communal tables and private booths for intimate dining.  Instead of the sole dining room at Whist, Cast now has three distinct settings. There is also a lounge area adorned with white couches, blue chairs and neutral club chairs, as well as a VIP area set-up.

The new private dining room can seat between 40 and 50 guests.  The main dining room, which flows to the outside dining area and pool, features a new communal table and two booths. All the walls feature a textured, neutral covering; there is also damask wallpaper near the kitchen entrance.

Key pieces provided by the decorating team include items by JLF Lone Meadow, Royal Custom Designs, Inc., custom side tables courtesy of California’s Finest, stools by Aceray LLC and floor lamps by Hallmark Collective.

While eating in the gorgeous space, patrons will enjoy items like Chili-Fried Chicken with Spring Vegetable Kimchee, Lamb Kefta Meatballs, and homemade Potato Gnocchi with fresh Asparagus and Morels.
