The high-ceilings, grand chandelier and warm ambiance of 583 Park played host to a very special cause this past Tuesday thanks to two determined fathers who lost young children to cancer.

Solving Kids’ Cancer was founded on the principle of funding clinical research trials to identify treatment options for childhood cancer, and the organization is making waves doing just that. They’ve funded 20 new clinical trials and 12 new therapies to help cure pediatric cancers, and the results have been stunning. In addition, the organization donates 100% of proceeds (yes, 100%) to the effort of eliminating deadly children’s cancers.

Celebrities like Josh Lucas, Nigel Barker and Donna Karan helped to host the event, lending support, kind words, and positive spirit to a room of friends and supporters.

I had the opportunity to speak with Nigel Barker about his involvement, and he shared the following, “Some people are involved with an organization because they have a very personal connection. I have two children, thankfully healthy, but it’s important to realize that Solving Kids’ Cancer is unlike others of its kind. The organization is very grass roots, and they have an approach that really works.”
