Music and apparel mogul Russell Simmons has purchased a new home above the Sunset Strip in Hollywood for $5,877,500. With five bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, the 5,979-square-foot home features a completely renovated interior space and a 1,500 bottle wine cellar.
According to Real Estalker, Simmons purchased the Spanish-style home last month. The “wall, gated and high-hedged residence” includes at least three fireplaces indoors and one outside, custom iron work, vintage light fixtures, inlaid tile and stone flooring, a wine tasting room, a 1,500 bottle wine cellar, earth-tones, and more. On the main floor there is a front entry with a circular stair hall that leads to the formal dining room, where the floor switch from stone tile to dark hardwood. The garden can be seen through an “over-sized arched window”.
In the kitchen there is a center island with two-toned slab marble counter tips. There are also stainless steel appliances and an adjoining family room with a vaulted ceiling, a stone mantel fireplace and French doors.
The listing also indicates that there are four bedrooms upstairs, each with a private, attached bathrooms.
In the back, there is a swimming pool, elevated spa, landscaped gardens and a secluded outdoor lounge area with a stone fireplace.
Simmons’ new neighbors include a slew of Hollywood’s elite, including Jenny Bicks, Charles Roven, Roger Kumble, and David Katzenberg.
