New York-based fashion house Thakoon will be featuring its Spring Collection for a limited time at Satine on West 3rd street in Los Angeles from March 22 through May 1.
Popular among high-profile people like Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Obama and Rachel Bilson, Thakoon is helmed by designer Thakoon Panichgul. According to LA Racked, the brand creates “fresh, feminine looks that never cease to turn heads both on and off the red carpet.”
Thakoon’s temporary presence in the L.A. boutique is reportedly an effort to bring the collection to California buyers at an affordable price. The collection, Thakoon Addition, will include “lightweight knits, printed bomber jackets and floral separates… and prices range from $125 to $695.”
In addition to the special offering of Thakoon’s spring collection, Satine will welcome the designer on April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
According to the brand’s website, Thakoon Panichgul was born in Thailand, raised in Omaha and is now based in New York. His creations “blend various distinct influences with dynamic ingenuity.” Prior to launching his popular label, he spend four years as a writer and editor for Harper’s Bazaar, but eventually “decided to try his hand at design, leading him to enroll at Parsons School of Design.”
Thakoon’s first ready-to-wear collection launched in September 2004 and in 2006 he was one of three recipients of the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund.
