The Rodeo Drive Committee has chosen its theme for its annual Concours d’Elegance, and 2013 has been dubbed “The Jet Age.”

To celebrate the Learjet’s golden anniversary on June 16 — Father’s Day — a mock-up of the new Lear85 business jet will land on Rodeo Drive, joining tail-finned cars of the ’50s and ’60s on the 200 block of Beverly Hills’ most famous street. It won’t be complete, of course — no one would want its wings to crash into some of the city’s toniest stores like Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo and Versace.

Says Concours chairman Bruce Meyer: “We are very excited to honor Learjet’s golden anniversary. The Jet Age marked a time when carmakers from post-World War II through the arrival of the super sonic Concorde in the ’70s redesigned their automobiles to highlight the most extreme designs reflecting streamlining and speed. We will display a thrilling exhibit reflecting these often outrageous designs.”

The show runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 16.
