Now that the award season has come to a close and the red carpets are all gone, it’s time to roll out the pink carpet. On March 8, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Dancing with Chicago Celebrities presented by Arthur Murray will be returning. As always, it’s purpose it to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer with the help of local celebrities and corporate superstars.
Dancing with Chicago Celebrities was the first ever event of its kind and continues to do great work with deserving Chicagoland charities. In the last seven years of the event they have raised more than $800,000 for these charities and have named the Northwestern Memorial Foundation as the primary benefactor of this year’s event. Additional funds will be directed to the grantees of the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Chicagoland Affiliate. A large portion of the net proceeds will be used to support a breast cancer vaccine trial, proving once again the event’s commitment to stopping breast cancer.
Celebrities appearing at the event include ’06 Champion Rick Bayless chef and owner of several great Chicago restaurants, Val Warner from Windy City Live, former Chicago Bear Desmond Clark, Stefan Holt of NBC-5, Miss Illinois Megan Irvin and many more. The dancers are paired with a professional instructor from Arthur Murray Dance Centers around the area and will show what they can do. Besides dancing there will also be a live auction with great prizes, a raffle, and some delicious food. Tickets start off at $175 for an individual and can be purchased here.
