Haute 100 New York Update: Award Winners Thank Harvey Weinstein Five Times More Than God
One of the best part of the Oscar’s is hearing the funny, crazy and emotional acceptance speeches. And those speeches usually include the name Harvey Weinstein. During this year’s award shows, winners thanked Weinstein five times more than God, according to a tally of 48 acceptance speeches by The Hollywood Reporter.
Actress Jennifer Lawrence thanked the 60-year-old studio executive three separate times — and called him a rascal twice — during her recent acceptance speeches. Lawrence thanked Weinstein for “killing whoever you had to kill to get me up here today” upon winning a Golden Globe for “Best Actress” in Silver Linings Playbook.
Other Weinstein acknowledgments came from Lawrence’s co-star Bradley Cooper at the Critics’ Choice Awards and Christoph Waltz at the Golden Globes.
