Donald Trump Sues Bill Maher for $5 million Over Orangutan Joke
Donald Trump doesn’t joke around when it comes to his family heritage. The outspoken real estate mogul filed a $5 million lawsuit again comedian Bill Maher after the talk show host refused to honor his end of a strange bargain.
The two reportedly put in writing that if Trump could prove he’s not actually the son of an orangutan, which Maher joked that he was, then the comedian would have to write a large check to a charity of Trump’s choice. In true business-like fashion, Trump presented an authentic birth certificate to show that he is the son of human real estate developer and not an orangutan.
“Today I sue Bill Maher,” Trump told Fox News. “He said it with venom. I don’t think it was a joke,” Trump said.
After learning that Trump did indeed file a lawsuit at L.A. County Superior Court citing breach of contract, Maher expressed his disbelief via Twitter, posting, “What?? Really? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.”
