As Coachella 2013 rapidly approaches, festivalgoers are anxiously awaiting the official lineup announcement. Numerous websites have hinted at the possibility that the Rolling Stones will make an appearance.

If indeed the Rolling Stones do play at Coachella this year, the OC Register reports it will be their first U.S. festival appearance since 1969. A new photo has recently leaked out of a “large rock” in the center of the field at Empire Polo Club, again fueling speculation about the “not-so-subtle play on ‘rolling stones’”, said website Mydesert.com.

Despite all of the speculation, Mick Jagger adamantly says he has not been approached to play at Coachella, saying, “I always said that we’d see how this would go, and then we’d think about doing more – or not.”

Other bands rumored to show up at Coachella include Green Day, Peal Jam, Blur, and Mumford & Sons, though nothing has been officially confirmed by organizers.
