Taylor Swift may have been named the most charitable celebrity of 2012, but Michael J. Fox doesn’t think she has a heart of gold. The 51-year-old actor warned the serial dating country star to stay away from his 23-year-old son, Sam Michael Fox.
“No. No … Just back off,” he told Vulture.com. “I don’t keep up with it all, but Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career.”
Swift has made a name for herself by calling out former flames in her music. Her recent hit “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is about her on-again off-again relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, while “Dear John” centers around her fling with playboy John Mayer.
Despite Swift’s romantic history, Fox wouldn’t mind if Sam were to bring her home for dinner. “I wouldn’t even know who she was,” he admitted, quipping that he’d probably only figure it out once her latest break-up song entitled “Sam, You Piece of Sh–” hit the airwaves. “Oh… that was the girl you brought home!”
Fox’s comments sparked outrage among Swift’s legion of fans. But, it seems that Fox felt bad about his earlier comments and reached out to the Red singer to apologize. “Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good,” Swift tweeted to her 23 million-plus followers. “Thank you for having my back.” In an amusing twist, Sam retweeted Swift’s message, and added, “Hope he gave her my #.” Sounds like Dad may have inadvertently played matchmaker!
