Haute Fashion Picks the Best Dressed From the Golden Globes
Last night hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler injected new life into the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The hilarious duo had the audience in stitches with their intro and show-time hijinks (our favorite moment: the cut-away to Amy Poehler sitting in George Clooney’s lap). But while the awards ceremony felt fresher than it has in years, the red carpet was just the opposite.
The Golden Globes, although prestigious, suffer from withholding: starlets faced with a months-long march to the Academy Awards in February hold back on their sartorial choices in order to make their biggest splash on the Oscars carpet. Last night was a classic case of withholding, with dresses that were nice, but certainly not amazing.
That being said, there were a few standouts. We particularly loved Jessica Alba’s coral, mermaid-fit Oscar de la Renta, complemented by the most perfectly paired hue of lipstick we’ve seen in a while. Kate Hudson looked cool in McQueen and Sienna Miller surprised in Erdem. Check out our best dressed picks to see it all!
