Derek Jeter Talks Climate Change at Davos Forum

More than 2,500 business leaders, politicians, academics and celebrities have gathered in Switzerland for the Davos World Economic Forum. Yankee’s captain Derek Jeter is one of the many high-profile New Yorkers attending the conference and hopes that climate change is one of the topics on the agenda.

Climate change is “just something that’s gotten so much attention,” Jeter told the Columbus Dispatch. “Regardless of how you feel about it, it’s something that needs to be addressed because we’re seeing more and more natural disasters each year… Something has to be causing it.”

Though Jeter typically tries to steer clear of political arguments, the 38-year-old shortstop said it was an “honor” to attend the forum.
