Celebrities, art dealers, musicians and more came together on Wednesday night during Chanel’s beachside party for Art.sy at Soho Beach House in Miami, hosted by Carter Cleveland, Larry Gagosian, Peter Thiel, Wendi Murdoch and Dasha Zhukova.
High-profile guests and art enthusiasts such as Demi Moore, Lenny Kravitz, Martha Stewart, Russell Simmons and Damien Hirst were all on hand to celebrate the evening in style in the tent that was located right up to the water at Soho Beach House. The Huffington Post reports that the event also featured bonfires, two bars, a paella station, DJ Nick Cohen and more.
Prior to the barbecue, a dinner was held in addition to an auction of artwork by Matthew Barney, Jeff Kooms, Nate Lowman, Barry McGee and more. The auction raised over $1 million to benefit the Dash Snow Initiative for Henry Street Settlement.
Art Basel Miami Beach continues through December 9 with plenty more events and celebrity sightings in store for those in the area. Attendees already seen throughout Miami Beach for the largest art event in the nation include Naomi Campbell, Vladislav Doronin, Nicole Miller, Peter Brant, Jeremy Piven, Adriana Lima, Mia Moretti, and more.
Art.sy describes itself as “a new way to discover art you’ll love, featuring work from leading partners, museums and private collections around the world.” The giant online database of art is organized and searchable by region, artist, movement, medium and period, according to Fashionista.com. Interested buyers will be put in touch with the gallery or owner if a piece of art is available for sale.
