With 2012 almost coming to an end, it’s always good to look back on some of the most elaborate affairs, dinners or parties that have been the talk of the town among the elite A-listers, especially in New York City.
According to an article entitled “Most Expensive Celebrity Parties of 2012” from foxnews.com, there are a list of notable celebrity parties of 2012 that has been crowned some of the most expensive star-studded events of the year, some which are simply unforgettable.
One of the top star-studded events of the year was Leornardo DiCaprio’s 38th Birthday Party at The Darby in New York City. This birthday bash was indeed bigger than usual with special guests Jonah Hill, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Cameron Diaz, Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro. Guests partied it up with DiCaprio for a good cause. For each bottle purchased among friends and DiCaprio, part of the proceeds went to the Red Cross. Successfully more than $500,000 was donated to the Red Cross, along with additional proceeds to the Leornardo DiCaprio Foundation.
Another high end party in New York was Bergdorf Goodman’s 111-Year Anniversary Party. This explosive event took place at one of the most well-known hotels in the Big Apple, The Plaza. The luxury fashion house celebrated its birthday among a list of celebs like Karl Lagerfeld, Zac Posen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Carolina Herrera and Anna Wintour. Guests enjoyed a giant three-tiered birthday cake with sparkling fireworks while classical singer Sasha Lazard performed “Happy Birthday.”
The Barclays Center Launch Party was another big star-studded event showcased in New York City. The party was hosted by Jay-Z in celebration of the launch of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the new home of the Brooklyn Nets. The Barclays Center is also the home of several bars and restaurants as well as a concert stadium. The mogul kicked of the celebration with a celeb, black-tie party, following a sold-out concert and after-party at Jay-Z 40/40 club. The guest list included Pharrell, Deron Williams, wife Beyonce, J.Cole, Rihanna and many more.
