The John Lautner-designed home in Palm Springs owned by Bob and Dolores Hope has recently hit the real estate market with an impressive asking price of $45 million.

According to LA Curbed, the Mossler Properties blog recently reported that the home hit the market and described it as “one of the most distinctive works of architecture in the entire Cohella Valley”. Designed by Lautner in 1973, the home was built in 1979 and features approximately 22,000 square feet.

Reports indicate that the home originally featured six bedrooms, ten bathrooms and a mushroom-shaped roof, however according to Triangle Modernist Houses, there was a second design by Dolores Hope and “Lautner eventually distanced himself from the project”.

Born in Marquette, MI, Lautner is known for his residences, but he also made a name for himself in commercial design.
