1. BarneysOffering more fashion forward brands like Carven, while mixing in the classic Louboutins with edgier Alaia pieces, Barneys is a one stop shopping heaven for shoes. The second floor is completely dedicated to women's while the 6th floor houses the men's selections. Sales people are knowledgeable and quick to be helpful about searching nationwide for the shoe of your dreams. P.S. They carry Isabel Marant here so hurry up and get your Dicker boots here.77 O'Farrell Street (415) 268-3500 http://www.barneys.com -
2. Neiman MarcusPerched on the second floor of Neiman Marcus, the shoe department here sparkles with must-haves and special trunk shows. Christian Louboutin offered the 20th year anniversary editions exclusively to NM first and there was a fabulous trunk show complete with bubbles and bites to top it off. Sergio Rossi, Valentino Rock Studs, Miu Miu glitter heels, Manolo -- all of the IT-shoe designers are here. This is the only store in SF to carry Tabitha Simmons and Charlotte Olympia. With the classic NM white-glove service, one couldn't be happier to spend a day here.150 Stockton Street (415)362-3900 http://www.neimanmarcus.com -
3. Saks Fifth AvenueWe love Saks for its great selection of Nicholas Kirkwood, Miu Miu, Celine but it's the only place in SF to still carry the classics from TODs. The men's store has its own shoe department on the 1st floor while the entire lower level of the Main Women's Store is dedicated to shoes. Lots of seating, expert sales people and a knockout selection make Saks a go-to place for shoes.220 Post Street (Mens) & 384 Post Street (Womens) 415) 986-4300 http://www.saksfifthavenue.com -
4. Jimmy ChooWith a jewel-box like setting, each shoe is irresistible piece of artwork. From the practical 24:7 collection to special limited edition shoes crafted in exotic skins with ornate detailing, the boutique obviously has the best selection of Jimmy Choo shoes and bags.166 Geary Street (415)391-3300 -
5. CurveWith a tightly curated cooler than school clique of names that include McQueen and Isabel Marant, Curve has a special place on our list for always carrying the shoe-of-the-season. The best part is that the store has excellent stylists who can pair those shoes for something more classic or edgier with all the items in store for a completely hassle free and put together look.2360 Filmore Street (415) 885-4200 http://www.shopcurve.com
