Rag & Bone Picks Melrose Storefront Due to Parking Appeal

Rag & Bone recently opened its first LA boutique at 8533 Melrose Avenue, but many were confused at the retailer’s storefront selection, with the obvious busy streets of Robertson and Melrose Place nearby. Well, according to WWD article, partner Marcus Wainwright, along with designer and co-founder David Neville made their decision based on parking.

Rag & Bone opened its door on Friday to bi-level, 9,000-square feet of space including eleven private parking spaces as an added bonus. Neville agreed that Robertson was “not appropriate” for their brand and Melrose Place was “deserted” yet pretty, so the obvious choice for the Rag & Bone brand had to be Melrose Avenue.

“I had somewhat of an epiphany sitting in a hotel with the manager of the LA store, who said the equivalent of foot traffic in L.A. was private parking or valet,” said Neville.

The LA boutique features Rag & Bone’s collection that includes: men’s, women’s and accessories. Rag & Bone’s hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
