Haute 100 NY Update: Munch’s “Scream” To Hit MoMA, Maybe Thanks to Leon Black

Edvard Munch’s legendary portrait of existential dread “The Scream” will arrive at the Museum of Modern Art on October 24 for a six-month stay. The Norwegian pastel set a price record when it went to a mystery buyer for $120 million at a Sotheby’s auction in May. Word soon trickled out that financier and noted art collector Leon Black had made the historic purchase. Still, no one, including Black, has confirmed that he was the buyer.
