The Top Five Hotel Lobbies in Las Vegas

    1. Bellagio
Only one word can describe the lobby at the Bellagio — grand. Above the 18-foot ceiling is a coffer filled with the most extraordinary glass sculpture, a 2,100-square-foot chandelier called Fiori di Como by glass sculptor Dale Chihuly. This stunning piece is made up of 2,000 hand-blown glass blossoms that hang 15 to 25 feet overhead. More than 100 created this work of art made from 10,000 pounds of steel for the armature, some 40,000 pounds of hand-blown glass and an entirely new type of hardware to attach the glass to the structure.

    2. Wynn Las Vegas
Steve Wynn’s Wynn Las Vegas features not one but three atriums if you include the one at Encore Las Vegas near Sinatra. Wynn wanted a decompression zone for guests checking in to the resort, so live plants and flowers bedeck the area. The Ficus trees in the Wynn Atrium are more than 50 years old. Every three weeks, the 8,000 flowering plants in the atriums are replaced by a staff of 27 gardeners and two supervisors. Bonus: The main atrium at Wynn is decorated to go with the seasons.

    3. Mandarin Oriental
Guests check in to the Mandarin Oriental on the 23rd floor in the Sky Lobby with its stunning views of the Vegas skyline, the only such lobby in Vegas. Guests arrive on the first floor and whisk above in the swanky elevators with a bench. In the Sky Lobby, guests can find the Tea Lounge as well as Mandarin Bar and Twist by Pierre Gagnaire.

    4. Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Perhaps Vegas’ most modern lobby comes at the hands of the Rockwell Group, which designed the space. Unlike most hotels that have an elongated check-in desk, the Cosmopolitan features multiple individual desks. Throughout the atrium, eight floor-to-ceiling digital columns wrapped in 48 bezel-less LCD displays showcase random digital artworks. Next door, the Vesper Bar, one of the great cocktail lounges in Vegas with its chichi cocktails, awaits.

    5. Aria
Suspended above the registration desk at Aria sits Maya Lin’s “Silver River,” a sculpture cast in reclaimed silver. Lin found inspiration in the Colorado River for her 84-foot long sculpture that weighs in at 3,700 pounds. The piece celebrates the spirit of CityCenter’s commitment to sustainability and Nevada’s nickname, The Silver State.
