Haute Preview: Rodeo Drive Walk of Style to Honor Style Icon Diana Vreeland

Style icon and legendary fashion editor Diana Vreeland will receive a posthumous honor as the recipient of next month’s Rodeo Walk of Style Award.

The Rodeo Drive Committee and the City of Beverly Hills will host an induction ceremony for the Harper’s Bazaar columnist on September 10 on Via Rodeo at Two Rodeo Drive.

The event will taken place hot on the heels of the release of Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel, a release from Samuel Goldwyn Films and Epix Films.

Vreeland, who died in 1989, will be the nineteenth recipient of the award. A plaque with her signature and a famous quote will be embedded into the sidewalk.

Said Beverly HIlls Mayor William W. Brien in a statement: “The City of Beverly Hills is proud to honor Diana Vreeland with the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style® award. Diana Vreeland was one of the most influential women of the 20th Century who changed the face of fashion as we know it.”

Previous honorees have included Missoni, Iman, Fred Hayman, Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, Cartier, Valentino Garavani, Manolo Blahnik, James Galanos, Gianni and Donatella Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Edith Head, James Acheson, Milena Canonero, Herb Ritts, Mario Testino and Tom Ford.   Giorgio Armani was the first recipient in 2003.
