Haute Event: An interview with Lo Bosworth at the Clos du Bois Rouge Party

Last night at the Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar, celebrities, VIPs and notable New Yorkers gathered to toast the launch of the newest Clos du Bois wine, Rouge.  Actresses Leslie Bibb and Odette Annable, model Selita Ebanks and Lo Bosworth joined Clos du Bois Winery Ambassador Katie Lee and Clos du Bois Winemaker Gary Sitton for the Moulin Rouge-themed bash.  Complete with can-can dancers, a French jazz band, Laduree macarons, French bites and of course, plenty of wine, the event transported guests from New York City to Paris for the night. Looking chic and fashion forward, both Odette Annable and Selita Ebanks were wearing the affordable pieces from the popular retailer Zara.  Leslie Bibb looked flawless in Halston and Tom Ford Black Orchid lipstick.

Guests mingled and sipped the new Rouge wine as well as Clos du Bois Chardonnay while admiring the beautiful Parisian flower market display.  I got a chance to catch up with Lo Bosworth from The Hills and Laguna Beach about her recent move to New York, fall must haves and what’s next for her.

How do you think the event is going?

Oh love it. We’re wine drinkers among my friends and this wine is amazing. The flowers and the set up are gorgeous.

How does it feel to be a New Yorker now? You are born and raised from southern California and now you are living here in the city. What do you love about New York?

I love the city, I love the energy. Just walking down the street there’s so much more diversity here. People are educated and they have something to say. I feel like young people can come here and contribute something. In L.A. there’s less of that. There are lots of girls going to yoga and lunch in Los Angeles. People here have passions and they are working hard and chasing them.

Most people don’t know that you have had a lot of success outside of television. You have a website the LoDown.com, and you’ve written a book. What’s been going on with you outside of being a media personality?

The past few years I was working at a big sports agency in the entertainment division and I was helping to run development. So I was responsible for the creation of television properties through sales of the network. I actually recently left to move to New York and I’m helping launch a tech company here. I can’t talk too much about it, were about to close our first round of fundraising. And right when I left I sold a show that I’m an Executive Producer on to MTV where I got my start. They’ll put out an announcement about that shortly.

As summer comes to a close and everyone starts talking fall fashion. What are some of your must haves for the fall season?

I already bought a beautiful pair of Loeffler Randall flat boots. I’m excited about expanding my boot collection extensively. I’ve already picked out my Burberry trench that I’m going to pick up for fall for when it really starts raining…even though it’s been raining all summer. I live in the West Village so I like to just walk up and down Bleecker and shop.
